About the Artist

Ty Barhaug, a Wyoming native, has great appreciation for wilderness and wildlife, and uses much of it to inspire him. He has been painting professionally since 1990. He handcrafts all of his frames, which adds to the western feel of his pieces. He has been honored at the Buffalo Bill Art Show & Sale with the 2008 Artists' Choice Award, four-time Juror's Choice Award, and the 1999 People's Choice Award. Other awards include the C.M. Russell Auction Ralph "Tuffy" Berg Award; The Meadowlark Gallery Sponsor Award; and placing in the top 20 in the United States Forest Service Centennial Celebration. He has been profiled in Art of The West, Southwest Art, and American Cowboy.
