Artist Questions

What artist inspires you? Why?

Mort Solberg inspires me with his great attitude, helpfulness, friendliness and constant searching for different ways to present his art.

How do you come up with an idea for a new piece of artwork?

Many times ideas for a new piece of artwork occur as I am working on another painting. If this doesn't happen, I refer to my photographs, which I have taken for inspiration.

Where is the most inspirational place you've visited lately?

Recently my wife and I visited the Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture and the Museum of Anthropology in Seattle, Washington and Vancouver, British Columbia, respectively. Fortunately, we were permitted access to the archival collection at the Burke Museum.
