Young at Art
Mondays in February: February 6, 13, & 27 (Will not hold Young at Art on February 20)

10:30AM – 11:15AM

Free for members or with Museum admission.

Art classes for toddlers ages five and under, accompanied by their caregiver, focusing on the simple art concepts of color, shape, texture and line. Children will learn about art and animals by looking at works in the galleries and doing fun, hands-on activities, while socializing with their peer group. Parents will spend quality time with their child working with exciting materials and instilling an appreciation of art. Pre-registration is unnecessary except for large groups. Gone to the birds! In the morning session, students will learn about the Federal Junior Duck Stamp program and begin an entry for the 2012 contest. The National Museum of Wildlife Art is the Wyoming host for the national contest. The afternoon session will feature birds from the Teton Raptor Center. Pre-registration is required. Join us for this fun celebration of outdoor sculpture in the new amphitheater at the Museum's front entrance! Local artists will create huge snow sculptures and will be on-site to talk about their work and offer instruction to those who want to dig in. Pre-formed snow “blocks” will be ready for adults and children to try their hand at carving and sculpting. The lively “ski bum rock band” Waist Deep will be making an appearance to kick off our celebration of outdoor sculpture! They are known for their powerful riffs, top-notch musicianship, and meaningful lyrics that blend to describe the ski bum experience. For more information contact Jane Lavino at 307-732-5417.
